Based in County Durham and working throughout north Yorkshire and the northeast of England, Build Project Solutions Ltd provides practical, cost-effective, financial, administrative and logistical support for all aspects of commercial construction and self-build-homes.

The Design Brief

The director, Andrew Eales, asked us to create a bespoke logo design and responsive 3-page website design to promote the services provided by the company.

The Solution: Responsive Web Design

The responsive website was built using the WordPress CMS with a bespoke designed layout and includes a modular page builder enabling changes to the website such as adding new photographs or changing text content to be easily made in-house.

While a three page website can be a quick and inexpensive way for new businesses or sole-traders to get online, the limited number of pages does mean that care needs to be taken to present on-page information clearly.  In this instance, as the services provided by BPS are comprehensive, the Services page was subdivided into 3 sections each relating to a specific customer group. A brief introductory paragraph provides an overview of the sector preceding a bulleted break-down of services.

Stock photography was used sparingly but effectively across the website. In total the number of images used on the site is only three, however a clever use of cropping and overlays adds interest. Additional visual interest is provided by the use of  subject relevant icons instead of traditional bullet points.

Before going “live” all content across the website was optimised for Search Engines. This included the addition of relevant search terms and the optimisation of all images used across the site. As a final touch a cookie consent bar linked to an up-to-date GDPR policy was added and the website was linked to Google Analytics.
