A professional Brand Identity and bespoke designed responsive website for Ashdan Consulting Ltd, emphasising the company’s experience and expertise at a local and global level
The Brief
When Chartered Quantity Surveyor John Johnson decided to fulfil a life-long ambition by starting his own business, he was in the enviable position of already having a couple of global construction projects in the pipeline. But that meant he needed to hit the ground running with a Brand Identity and responsive website which emphasised Ashdan Consulting’s experience and expertise at a local and global level – which is why he contacted us.
Our Solution: Brand Identity
A crisp, business-like Brand Identity which translates into a modern business card, logo design, responsive website and business stationery design.
Brand consistency was maintained in two ways; by ensuring the uniformity of colours, fonts and imagery across the website and marketing materials, and also by maintaining the same tone throughout all content issued by Ashdan Consulting.
Logo Design
John already had an idea of the logo style and colour palette he wanted to use as part of his Brand Identity and so we worked with him to refine his idea into a workable solution. The dropped verticals of the logotype hints both at the A-frame of a roof and at the shape of the theodolite used by surveyors to measure horizontal and vertical angles without becoming a caricature.
Business Card Design
For professional reasons it was important to include the RIC’s logo prominently on their business card. Including another organisations logo on a business card can be tricky as it’s important to ensure that an organisations branding guidelines are followed without distracting attention from the main focus of the business card but by opting for a clean traditional design we were able to include the RIC’s logo without compromising the Ashdan brand.
Business Stationery
Carrying the new logo design through to the business stationery, we designed letterheads, compliment slips and envelopes. These were formatted as Word templates.
Responsive Website Design
The website was built on the WordPress Content Management System so that future changes and additions could be made easily. A focused navigation system ensures that attention is concentrated on the 3 core services provided by Ashdan Consulting. High profile case studies were also added to highlight Ashdan Consulting’s global experience and full-width headers include a personal message from MD John Johnson.
The accessible information, comprehensive case-studies and clear call-to-actions creates a professional online presence while the full width headers with a personal message from MD John Johnson and the inclusion of an “About Us” page emphasis the fact that Ashdan Consulting Ltd is a family business with a global reach.
Content Creation / Copywriting
The website’s text content was researched and written before the website was designed and built. This enabled the creation of a site with a streamlined user-flow, making it easy for website visitors to source relevant information and ensuring that the Ashdan Consulting brand remained consistent online.
Search Engine Optimisation
Search Engine Optimisation was integrated as part of the website build. Tracking analytics were also employed to map the number of site visitors and the actions they took when visiting the website. The website was also optimised for screen readers and meets A1 Accessibility Criteria.
The Result
Within the first 12 months of trading Ashdan Consulting Ltd expanded their team and their premises, built on their core services, and are now working on major construction projects throughout the North-East and worldwide.
The website continues to perform well in Search Engines and provides a professional online presence for potential clients and the company is now a respected player within the North-East Construction Industry.
UPDATE JULY 2018 – The website continues to do well in Search Engines and we continue to deliver website hosting and emails, maintenance updates and changes to the website when required.
UPDATE JANUARY 2019 – Ashdan Consulting asked us to create a new logo design for their new property development busines Ashdan Estates.
UPDATE MAY 2020 – While we’ve loved working with Ashdan Consulting, their growth has been so exponential that they are now in a position where they need a larger design agency to deliver additional support. We’re proud of any help we’ve given them to achieve their aims so far and wish them continuing success in the future.
