Hannah’s Accessories
A responsive e-commerce website design & build, logo design and website maintenance for a Stanley based jewellery store.
The Brief
Based in Stanley, County Durham, Hannah’s Accesories sells costume jewellery and accessories.
They asked us to create a responsive e-commerce website which would showcase their products and provide a simple sales funnel and online payment system. A logo for the business was also required.
Our Solution: E-Commerce Website Design
We designed and built a bespoke, responsive, e-commerce website using the WordPress Content Management System and the WooCommerce e-commerce system.
Designed to work exclusively with WordPress, WooCommerce is an open-source e-commerce solution that provides all of the functionality required for small to medium size online retailers.
The website design was kept deliberately simple. Products were photographed against a white background to show them to their best advantage. A few carefully chosen stock photography images added pops of colour as backdrops to special offers and seasonal promotions. A streamlined navigation system and correctly used product category hierachy provides a clear path to purchase for website visitors.
As an additional service we provided full copywriting across the website including all product descriptions. This included search-engine optimised text content, web-optimisation of product images and the correct use of alt, title and headings throughout all text and pictures used on the website.
Template pages were created as a way of providing ready-made page layouts for future use and a series of bespoke “How To” documents enable Hannah’s Accessories to confidently manage the website on a day-to-day basis.
Logo Design
As a relatively new business Hannah’s Accessories hadn’t thought too much about their brand identity before contacting us. While a brand identity is much more than just a logo design, the logo is often a good place to start as it’s a chance to focus attention on the image the business protrays to the world. We came up with a bright contemporary logo design using intense pastel shades and a modern typeface. The colours and font were then used across all online and printed marketing materials.
The Result
Hannah’s Accessories now have a bright, responsive, fast-loading, easy-to-use ecommerce website. The website scores well in Google Pagespeed and GTMetrix while Search Engine Optimisation and the addition of Google Analytics give at-a-glance monitoring of vistor behaviour. The bespoke logo design centralises the brand giving a focal point both online and in print.
UPDATE MAY 2020 – We are thrilled that Hannah’s Accessories have asked us to design their business cards, flyers and packaging materials as well as continuing to deliver website support and maintenance, hosting and ongoing training as and when required.
UPDATE JAN 2023 – Although the Hannah’s Accessories website is temporarily offline, we have been asked to continue managing the site as part of our website maintenance package.
